Representatives from the Marshall University Minority Health Institute and Hospice of Huntington will present about racial disparities in hospice care. Research suggests that Blacks are less likely to access and utilize hospice compared to Whites. Geographical, socioeconomic, and cultural differences create barriers to implementing effective hospice care services in rural areas. Therefore, strategies and solutions to address disparities in hospice care are warranted.
