Are applications reviewed on a rolling basis? No, applications are not reviewed on a rolling basis. However, we encourage you to submit your application early in case you run into any technical issues. Is there a GPA requirement? There is no GPA requirement to apply to the NHSC Scholarship program. However, each applicant must submit transcript(s) from the last degree earned and the current degree program. An unofficial transcript is acceptable and must display the applicant name, school name, and grade point average (GPA). Applicants should enter the cumulative GPA for their last degree earned to the application. Who should write my letters of recommendation? - Academic Letter of Recommendation – should be from a department chair, faculty advisor, or a faculty member of the academic program who can attest to your qualifications and include a handwritten or digital signature
- Non-academic Letter of Recommendation – can be from an employer or previous employer, community leader, colleague, or anyone who has knowledge of your interest and motivation to provide care to underserved communities; the letter may include a personal address or organization if letterhead is unavailable and include a handwritten or digital signature
If there is an issue with my application, will I be contacted? NHSC staff will not reach out for missing information or discrepancies in documentation due to the volume of applications the Scholarship Program receives.
