Keynote Address: The New Future of Rural Healthcare
 Eric Shell, CPA, MBA, Chairman, Stroudwater Associates

Description:
For the past 24-months, while rural health systems have been battling Covid-19,
the healthcare industry has continued to evolve at an accelerating pace. Traditional
healthcare providers must adapt to the new market realities or face increasing
threats from new forms of competition. Part of this market reality is a payment
system that is transitioning from volume to value, rewriting the functional
imperatives of rural health systems. This presentation will highlight these threats
and provide rural health systems with a clear plan to leverage their market position
and goodwill obtained during the pandemic, to minimize these threats.

APP Recruitment and Utilization in the RHC
 Opal Greenway, JD, MBA, Director, Stroudwater Associates
Description:
RHCs have uniquely utilized Advanced Practice Providers to increase access to
healthcare in vulnerable communities. However, there has been significant
diversity in how APPs are used due to differences in state licensure, collaborative
agreement provisions, payer contract rules, billing optimization, and preferences of
physicians. On top of these differences, COVID-19 has increased the shortages of
APPs and made recruitment a far more competitive landscape. This presentation
will go over best practices for both recruitment and utilization of APPs.
