The Myers Clinic moves to a new location in November

PHILIPPI, W.Va. – Some exciting changes are coming when the Myers Clinic opens in a new location in November.

A new state-of-the-art medical facility, located on the former Kines Motor Company property in Philippi, is nearing completion. The new health care center will enhance the primary care medical services available to residents in Barbour County and the surrounding region, said Eric Ruf, CEO of the Myers Clinic.

“Our team designed the new facility with the community and our professional medical staff in mind,” Ruf said. “We are very excited for the community to see the result of the whole team coming together to bring a vision to life. Our main goal is to uphold the Barbour Community Health Association’s mission to provide quality, affordable health care and wellness services to all who need them.”

The current location, 3 Healthcare Drive, will close for the move at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3 and reopen at the new location, 116 McClellan Rd., the week of Nov. 14. A grand opening celebration is planned for Thursday, Dec. 1 with further details to follow.

The Myers Clinic treats patients of all ages and provides a variety of family healthcare services, including pediatrics, women’s health, behavioral health, and nutrition counseling. The new location will allow the medical facility to expand these existing services and add general radiology and improved patient laboratory services.

“If the patient is at the health center for a routine visit or is a walk-in patient, we will be able to provide radiology immediately for the chest, strains, or sprains,” Ruf said. “People don’t need to be a patient of the Myers Clinic to get an X-ray. Any physicians can refer their patients to the medical clinic for an immediate X-ray without the patient incurring emergency room costs.”

The health center will continue to offer laboratory services on-site, but the services will be directly facilitated by the medical staff at the Myers Clinic.

“We will be able to offer better pricing and a quicker turnaround time because of the new in-house processing procedure and connection to LabCorp,” Ruf said. “It will also be more convenient and cost-effective for our patients.”

Most insurances are accepted, and a sliding fee scale is available for uninsured individuals or families who need financial assistance through the organization’s Health Access Program, which helps patients who don’t have health care insurance.

“As a federally qualified health center, we do not refuse services based on someone’s ability to pay,” Ruf said. “We put the patient at the center of what we do and will work with them.”

“Whether it’s a cold, the flu, if you think you have COVID, sprained your wrist, fell off a ladder, or have a sports injury, our professional medical staff are here for the community like we have always been,” Ruf said. “Our focus is to provide high-quality healthcare services to residents in our community.”

Patients will be able to make appointments with their current providers, including Dr. Cecil Hobert, Dr. Pete Palko, Tessa Ricotilli, PA-C, and Taylor Chevalier, PA-C.

“Dr. Holbert and Dr. Palko will continue to see their patients and follow them in hospital care,” Ruf said. “We are also excited to announce that Susan Ketchem and Scott Nesland will be transitioning to our Quick Care Services and will provide acute healthcare services.”

Main Street, Philippi), and the Brandon Wellness Center at Philip Barbour High School (99 Horseshoe Drive, Philippi). The organization also offers school-based health services at Philippi Elementary School, Junior Elementary School, Kasson Elementary-Middle School, Philippi Middle School, and Belington Elementary-Middle School.
