Purpose:

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) provides scholarships for students of color who do not hold an EMS certification but who intend to become an EMT or paramedic. The overall goal of the scholarship program is to promote the development of greater diversity in the EMS workforce so that the workforce reflects the communities they serve.

Eligibility:

Eligible applicants are black, indigenous, and other people of color who are not currently EMTs or paramedics.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Commitment to entering the EMS profession
  • Financial need
  • Service to the community
  • Ability to serve as a positive ambassador for the EMS profession

Nationwide
 
Amount of funding:

4 scholarships of $1,250 will be awarded to cover tuition, fees, and books.
