St. George Medical Clinic celebrates grand opening in Canaan Valley

DAVIS, W.Va. (August 8, 2022) – The St. George Medical Clinic is pleased to announce the grand opening of the St. George Canaan Valley Clinic and the St. George Canaan Valley Pharmacy.

The new medical clinic is open 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the new pharmacy is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The clinic accepts walk-ins and appointments from new and existing patients for acute illnesses and accidents.

“We are pleased to offer high-quality health care services to Canaan Valley residents as well as visitors to the Tucker County region,” said Paul Wamsley, CEO of St. George Medical Clinic. “At St. George Medical Clinic, we recognize the importance of supporting a growing community by providing convenient access to primary and comprehensive medical services close to home.”

“The opening celebration is an opportunity for business leaders and invited guests to tour our newest facility,” Wamsley said. “By opening a new location, we hope to improve the health of individuals and families and promote awareness about the importance of routine check-ups and preventative health care services.”

Health care services provided at the Canaan Valley location include routine and preventive health care, immunizations, behavioral health services, radiology, phlebotomy, and pharmacy services (340b). Patients also have access to drive-thru pharmacy services located at the clinic.

“The St. George Medical Clinic staff has worked hard to develop strong relationships with other healthcare facilities to bring medical services to the Canaan Valley area that otherwise would be unavailable,” Wamsley said. “We hope to expand in the future as we see a greater need for additional services.”

Appointments at the St. George Canaan Valley Clinic and prescriptions at the St. George Canaan Valley Pharmacy are covered by most insurances. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, St. George Medical Clinic offers a sliding-fee discount program (financial assistance) to uninsured or underinsured patients.

“The sliding-fee discount program allows the St. George Canaan Valley Clinic the flexibility to waive or lower the fee for their medical services,” Wamsley said. “We will never turn away a patient due to inability to pay.”
