The Independent Pharmacy Expo 2022 Virtual is designed for owners and prospective owners, as well as pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who have an interest in community pharmacy practice. You’ll learn from nationally-known speakers, and gain insight into what others are doing to capture the latest in independent pharmacy services. Take advantage of this unique virtual program built to meet the needs of independent pharmacists, technicians and those who may one day own a pharmacy. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can earn up to 7 hours of continuing pharmacy education credit. You can watch and re-watch the on-demand sessions until November 18, 2022. Stay on the forefront of advancements in community pharmacy practice by joining these pharmacy leaders from your own home or office! The virtual Expo Hall will showcase exhibitors who have products and services to meet your specific needs and help your business. West Virginia Pharmacists Association (WVPA) is proud to partner with Mountain Health Network (MHN)  to offer a Collaborative Practice Summit! Following the legislative and Board of Pharmacy rule changes surrounding collaborative practice agreements (CPAs) in 2021-2022 MHN/WVPA realized there were lots of questions on how to get your collaborative practice agreement started. In response, we have gathered all the tools you need into a one-day session! The event will be held at the St. Mary’s Conference Center on Sunday September 18th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sessions will include: Two hours covering legislative changes, rules, and regulation updates associated with collaborative practice agreements in West Virginia presented by Krista Capehart PharmD, MS, BCACP, FAPhA, AE-C with the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy. One hour presented Pharmacy Clinical Specialist Samantha Wright PharmD, BCPS covering the knowledge you need to maintain an effective relationship with your providers. And a final hour with Emmeline Paintsil PharmD, MSLD, BCPS Director of Professional Affairs for the Iowa Pharmacists Association (IPA) covering inpatient CPA opportunities and the evidence you need to show the value your CPA agreement provides!
